I don’t want to wear the clothes my brother picked out for his wedding. What should I do?
My brother and his fiancee are huge Star Trek fans. They met at a convention 3 years ago and are totally into the whole Trekkie phenomenon. I am my brother’s best man, which I am absolutely thrilled about as we are very close.
My problem is that I don’t want to wear a Star Trek uniform to the wedding. The whole wedding party is supposed to dress in these costumes. In 10 years, I think that they’ll agree it’s as ridiculous as I think it is now. Can you imagine the wedding album?
I can’t talk my brother out of this, and I don’t want to give up being his best man. What should I do?
Wear it for the actual wedding ceremony.
Bring along a change of clothes for the reception.
That way you both get your way!
