Wedding Question…head table?
Are the ushers supposed to sit at the head table? Because I already have nine bridesmaids and 9 groomsmen so the head table is going to be big enough, but we are planning on splitting the head table up because at our reception hall there’s a stage so we are going to put a table above and a table below to split it up. But we are having 4 ushers because the church we are getting married in is huge so 4 more people at the head table is a lot but I don’t know if that is disrespectful to not ask the ushers to sit at the head table with the wedding party? I’ve been to some weddings where they have and others that they’ve not. What’s your opinion?
And also, any creative ideas on how to decorate my head table? I’ve seen some really neat things but don’t know how to begin. Any websites, pictures, or any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I don’t think it would be rude at all to have them sit at a seperate table. They have to understand that you can’t fit that many people at one (or even 2) tables, and they might even be happy that they get to sit with their dates/spouses. If you think they might be offended, maybe you could decorate their table like your head tables. That way it would still be clear that they are a part of the wedding too.
My cousin also had a big wedding party (not as big as yours, but big.) I really liked her head table. She took icicle christmas lights and hung them around the table, then put the white table skirt over them. It made the table glow and looked really pretty. Plus, it was easy (and inexpensive) to do on a huge, long table, and it would make the table below the stage stand out as part of the head table as well.
At my wedding, we had empty vases on the head table for my bridesmaids and I to put our bouquets in during dinner and dancing. That way, the bouquets did double-duty, as they were used during the ceremony and then as part of the decorations at the reception.
